What do you mean by red flags? Red flags act as danger signals. In relationships, they are warning signs for us to pay attention to or for us to stay away from.
Here, I listed 2 red flags that I think are common nowadays, but because society tells us that it’s already 2023 (nah
) we treat them as “normal,” “common,” and worst, “right.” But let me remind you, just because something is popular doesn’t mean it is good or right. ![]()
So here they are:
1.’No label relationship.
-When one cannot define the state of their relationship, then there must be something wrong.
This goes for all men, most especially because your task in a relationship is to lead. Before giving sweet treatments or gestures, be sure to be clear with your intentions.
Clarity is very important in a relationship. If your love is true, then it must be clear.
2. Sex before marriage.
-I know it’s 2023, but please let me remind you no matter how high-tech the world can be, or even if we are in 2050, the sanctity of marriage and making love remains to be the same.
Sex is sacred. Our bodies explain this during the act of making love. Because love entails giving our all to our beloved, and through sex, we make this love known. A kind of self-giving that is total, faithful, fruitful, and free.
If your partner does not respect you for waiting for sex until marriage, then he is not worth your time. Because a real man or woman respects you for being you, not for what your body can give, he/she simply loves and waits for the right time in marriage.
St. John Paul II once said, “Do not be afraid when love requires sacrifice.” Real love will ask you to sacrifice your wants and desires for the sake of your beloved. Because real love always seeks what is the best and right for the person that we love.

I pray that we will be brave enough to swim against the tide of this modern age. Let us not dive into a relationship acting as if we own the other. We are merely recipients of love, and we love because we first experienced it from Him.
Ikaw, what are your red flags?
