In 2012, I started my journey of creating my yearly theme for myself. A word or phrase that will be my battle cry and guide for the whole year. I got this idea from Couples for Christ since CFC releases a yearly theme for the whole community to be guided upon and reflect on. This inspired me to also discern and listen well to God’s leading for me every year and pick out specific words as my theme.
Looking back, my yearly theme fits perfectly with every adventure, situation, and experience that I had every year which only reminds me of God’s presence in my journey. Whenever I remember the years that went by, I can’t help but be affirmed that my yearly theme was God’s preparation and encouragement for me, a glimpse of what the new year brings.

2017 – Breakthrough
2018 – Trailblaze

2021 – Magnificat
2022 – Light 2022
2023 – Yes 2023!
2024 – Daring greatly!
This year, my theme is Daring Greatly! This is inspired by the author and TEDx speaker, Brene Brown. My goal this year is to do great things by being courageous and by going out of my comfort zone. I realized “adulting” at some point became my excuse to remain on the sidelines and to choose only the comfortable path. But God reminded me that He created me for greatness! And one way to live out my identity is through taking risks, welcoming change, and saying yes to a life of adventures with Him.
Last year was my year of Yes, it was God’s preparation for this year because more than just saying yes, this year will be about being courageous in my choices and my yes. I don’t know what lies ahead but I am certain that God will not lead me to where His grace can’t keep me. I am sure that He is asking me to dare greatly this year because He has prepared great things for me and I can only receive them if I’m brave enough.
